October 2017, Lal Sellars

Alison Sellars

From an early age, I was fascinated by the holistic and emphemeral relationship between human beings and nature and how they relate to each other within their own world. In the beginning there is newness, longing, and excitement which turns into complacence, compliance, stagnation, and eventually death.

My first exhibition was in 2007 at the Coach House in Malvern. This was followed by two further successful shows in the town in 2008 and 2009.

In 2010 and 2011, my paintings were hung in libraries in Worcestershire and Herefordshire: these included Tenbury, Bromyard, Droitwich, and Pershore.

I showed in the Worcester Arts Trail whilst studying for a degree in Fine Art at the University of Worcester. Also, I had five large works in the Hive Cafe in 2015. I was nominated for the Elmley Award in Art and Design for my sclpture in my Final Degree Show in May 2016.
